More Signs

So, looks like to the point store signs are becoming a thing for a Disheveled Prom Queen such as I to take notice of. More to come.
Maybe it was my mind state due to buzzin off a night cap on the long drive home from the sticks of Delaware, but this one struck my fancy.
Considering that all we did was dash in, I found this to be quite classic.
Not to worry, the store does come equipped with the sketchy guy who stands outside of the Dash In
all night. He was looking me over pretty hard while I snapped these pics.

Almost relevant Music Posting

Disheveled Prom Queen, aka the Dish Fairy, aka Queen of Obscurity, Tony's Old Girl;
hyped up to finally share the feelins I been catchin off my new rapper crush, J. Cole.
One of his joints be blowin up on my mind.
Young girl at the job tellin me it's time to move on, but I'm just not ready.
When I first heard this joint, I was like, hold up, what is this?
Cuz the sample on the beat track was speakin to me.
I mean the lyrics is poppin too. I liked joined twitter so I could be that girl he's followin.
@tonysoldgirl
But um, let's squeeze in the culture lesson before y'all think I just be only disheveled.
Really ridin the coattails off some research my girl did about the sample on this tune, but
Ba bam;
http://www.thisisafrica.me/music/detail/2058/J-Cole-raps-over-a-classic-from-Guineas-golden-era-of-music
Aw yeah, this is what we like to see; roots music mixed with pop culture.
Go ahead J.. sneak it in on the young-ins.
That's why in murder, marry, fuck,  yesterday, I said I would marry you.

Holiday Guilt

DPQ back in the area. Feels good to be back.
Literally been offline since the night of the last post.
Was about to be feelin pent up which is why I had ended up gettin twisted enough to toss cookies on the precious laptop, only after drunk e-mailing the sleeper crush in the first place.
So disheveled....
But anyway, so like, the other day,
the Ex (baby daddy) is like tryn get me to set up my decorations on the Christmas tree at his crib.
And I'm like, no offense, but I am a little psychotically sentimental about my collection,
that's not gonna  happen.
Then he goes on to say,
"and we could do a once a year holiday "celebration" to y'know get the family vibes goin."
To which I am again like.....silence.
MF'd besomehow figurin out how to get me pregnant or some shit.
to which he then goes on to say, c'mon, who you been with lately?
What you gonna do, go and find Kenny....?
At which point I am looking at him thinking to myself,
and what makes you think I ain't talkin to a Kenny mother fucker right now.
Drawn.
Calls himself a Greenman and never seen this punk even water a house plant.
throwin some Kenny shit in my face after all these years.
make a girl wanna use forbidden terms like nigga and such.
Looks like he'll be gettin coal in his stocking again this year.

Family Photos

Showing these pics to a co-worker the other day, I attempted to profess to her, my passion for graffiti.
I said something like,
"because of where and when, I grew up, ridin trains from Brooklyn to Manhattan in the early 80's, graffiti runs deep in my bones. Like if you cut my bones open, paint would drip out from the layer of graffiti between the bones and the marrow."
Bubble letters impressed upon my eye sockets when I should have been diggin on
my little pony.
And so, because of that, when I snap family photos of my boy, this is how we do.
I have a patient boy, he stands by me while I squeal,
"This is so Vintage" and scold him for not having a tough enough b-boy stance for the photo.
But seriously, note the "Pepperidge Farm" logo on the side of the truck if you can.
If the dude whose truck this was walked up while I was snappin these pics, I would have totally given him my number.

A Little bit of graph

Disheveled Prom Queen, aka the Queen of Obscurity, aka the Dish Fairy, catchin up after being offline for 2 weeks from not payin the bill....so Disheveled.
Luckily, there was much graffiti inspiring me.
First off, DPQ loves ducks. since like all my life.
And so, who else, but I would get giddy over this simple tag.
It's a 1-liner by this kid Yerp.

Amateur analysis of this tag shows it can be done in 2 or 3 pen strokes.
Very nice. And on the yellow road divider, a quick and dirty way to add some relevant color.

On Riker's Rims, etc.

A girlfriend and I were talking the other day.
She was tellin me her daydream of the new business her honey would someday open.
And then she asks me if,
"Riker's Rims would be a good name for the shop?"
Of course, I love the title.
My reply was,
"It is certainly more clever and creative than the new shop that just opened up near me."
Price point at approx. $200 and right next to the liquor store. Hmm.
But hey, in reference to my previous blog, can't knock the hussle.
Honestly, I am not even tryn to dis. I love this store.
"Cheap & Good."
It is so to the point. So Philly.
And to keep it rollin.
Peep this store. Miles away in S. Philly. And still so Philly.
Appealing to the Hispanic and Asian renters' markets of S.Philly?
Riker's Rims would fit right in.
And is certainly where I would be gettin my rims from.
Bling bling.
